Client Commitment
It is extremely important the Client commit to a time line with respect to the recovery process.Without a tight control of this process the time from initial contact by ARS to recovery of the abandoned property may well exceed 6 months.
With the exception of "Estates" , the recovery process is primarily a clerical/administrative task consisting of 3 straightforward steps;
Contact the Holder of the Abandoned Property
Contact the holder (attorney, company, agency) of the abandoned property (ARS will provide all relevant property details and request a "standard claim package" or a list of documents to be submitted in support of the recovery process. Supporting documents to be submitted will depend on the type of property being claimed and whether an individual or business is claiming as the original owner.
Submit to the Holder Claiming Documents
Compile those documents required and noting if notarization or affidavits are required. Ensure all documents are submitted as an incomplete "claiming package" may delay the recovery process by up to 6 months.
Upon Recovery of the Abandoned Property Advise ARS
When in possession of the abandoned property advise ARS and ARS will immediately invoice for the applicable Finder's Fee
